Keeping Active and Having Fun at Campsie View

We were delighted to welcome the CAPA (Care About Physical Activity) team to Campsie View Care Home in Glasgow for a fantastic morning filled with movement and laughter in collaboration with the Care Inspectorate.

The team brought along a range of equipment and invited residents to take part in activities that could be adapted to suit different interests and abilities. Everyone had the chance to join in at their own pace, whether that meant trying a new activity, enjoying a familiar movement or simply sharing the fun with others.

There was a wonderful sense of energy throughout the morning as residents took part together and cheered each other on. Sessions like this show that staying active does not have to feel like exercise. It can be social and enjoyable while also supporting mobility, confidence and overall wellbeing.

At Campsie View, our varied activities programme helps make each day interesting and gives residents opportunities to connect with others. Our team plans a wide range of engaging experiences, with physical activity woven naturally into everyday life. Like our recent CAPA session, this movement might come through a rhythm game, a friendly competitive challenge or time spent outdoors. These activities can help support balance and mobility while encouraging residents to keep using everyday skills in ways that feel enjoyable and purposeful.

Regular physical activity can also support strength, coordination and confidence. Just as importantly, shared activities create opportunities for conversation and laughter, helping residents feel connected to the people around them.

We make our activities as accessible as possible so everyone can take part in a way that feels right for them. Our staff are always on hand to offer encouragement or practical support when needed. This gives residents the confidence to try something new, enjoy what they can do and stay independent for as long as possible.

We look forward to continuing to bring movement into daily life at Campsie View through sociable and fun activities. If you’d like to find out more about life here at Campsie View Care Home, please get in touch with our friendly team today.
